Rights are rights, regardless of whether a government recognizes them as such.

In the process of art-making, all subject matter is filtered through the artist herself.

What I value about being an artist is what I value about being a person in this world.

To me, art is too far-reaching in my life to label it as a career. It's not smaller than a career, but rather, it's bigger.

In simply allowing ourselves to be who we are, we help others feel more comfortable being themselves too.
